Iran Calls on Trump Administration to End Wars in Lebanon and Gaza

"The World is Waiting," Says Iranian Vice President

Iran's First Vice President, Mohammad Reza Aref, has issued a strong call for the incoming Trump administration to immediately end Israel's ongoing wars in Gaza and Lebanon.

Speaking at the joint Arab League and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation summit in Saudi Arabia, Aref stated:

"The American government is the main supporter of the actions of the Zionist regime (Israel), and the world is waiting for the promise of the new government of this country to immediately stop the war against the innocent people of Gaza and Lebanon."

Condemnation of "Organized Terrorism"

Aref also strongly condemned Israel's recent assassinations of prominent Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, describing them as acts of "organized terrorism" rather than "targeted killings."

He specifically referenced the killings of long-time Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and senior Iranian official Brig-Gen Abbas Nilforoushan in Beirut, as well as the death of former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza.

Aref stated:

"The operations that are conceptualized with the deceptive phrasing of 'targeted killing', and during which Palestinian elites and leaders of other countries in the region are killed one by one or en masse, are nothing but lawlessness and organized terrorism."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s newly reinforced position now Trump has won the US presidency could lead to further intensification of Israel’s wars – although the incoming US president has said he wants to swiftly end both conflicts.

Call for Global Intervention

Iran's senior official called on the international community to pressure the incoming Trump administration into halting its support for Israel's military actions in Gaza and Lebanon.

"The world cannot stand idly by while innocent lives are lost," Aref said. "It is time for global leaders to intervene and force an end to these senseless conflicts that the U.S. is prolonging for its own geopolitical gain."

The plea for international intervention underscores Iran's growing concerns over the escalating humanitarian crises in both Gaza and Lebanon as a result of the ongoing conflicts.
